Description
An account of the resource
I Murazzi imponenti muraglioni eretti nel XV secolo alle spalle dell'abitato di Longarone per consentire la coltivazione di nuove terre e per il contenimento delle frane, acquistati e completati dalla fam. Sartori tra la fine del 1600 e l'inizio del 1700. Oggi sono monumento nazionale e dal 2012 sono sede degli orti comunali.

Questa settimana vi mostriamo uno dei reperti facenti parte del nostro museo #longarone.vajont: un leone in pietra proveniente da Villa Malcolm, una delle costruzioni storiche di Longarone, costruita nel 1774 dalla fam. Stefani inizialmente con funzione di segherie che si estendevano fino al Maè, arricchendosi con l'andare del tempo e divenendo punto di snodo per tutta la zona. Fu acquistata da sir Alexander Malcolm nel 1800 che la arricchì con parco, laghetti, statue, serre con alberi preziosi, tra cui cedri del Libano. La villa fu spazzata dall'ondata della notte del 9 ottobre 1963.
Il leone e un gemello si trovavano ai piedi della scalinata d'ingresso della villa.

La prima strada tra Longarone e Erto
Description
An account of the resource
La prima strada che da Longarone portava a Erto e poi alla Valcellina fu costruita tra il 1911 e la fine del 1912. Era una carrozzabile che attraverso una successione di ponti ( il più celebre quello del Colomber, all' epoca il più alto d' Italia 138m dal suolo che solcava il torrente Vajont) e gallerie (tra cui quella 'delle Calade') fu utilizzata durante le 2 Guerre Mondiali, in particolare nella prima. Celeberrimo il passaggio dell' allora tenente Erwin Rommel ( ricordato poi come la ' Volpe del deserto') nel 1917 per raggiungere Longarone per bloccare l' esercito italiano e fare diecimila prigionieri nella 'Battaglia di Longarone'.
La vecchia strada sarebbe stata utilizzata fino al 1956.
In quell' anno sarebbe stata inaugurata la nuova variante di tracciato in prospettiva della costruzione della Diga del Vajont.

Calcio A.C.D. LONGARONE - Stagione 1962-1963
Roma 11 ottobre 1963 - Comunicato. 'Per esprimere la commossa partecipazione degli sportivi per la sciagura nel Bellunese, la Figc, aderendo all'invito della Giunta del Coni, ha disposto che in tutti i campi venga effettuato domenica 13 un minuto di raccoglimento in memoria delle vittime. Anche la nazionale azzurra, impegnata a Mosca, si assocerà al commosso ricordo con analoga manifestazione.' I centomila dello Stadio Lenin, prima della partita, osservarono un minuto di silenzio. Fu così, con sessanta secondi di raccoglimento, in una terra lontana, che il mondo del calcio ricordò l'immane tragedia. La notte del 9 ottobre si portò via cinque di questi giovani giocatori e anche una dozzina di ragazzi della squadra giovani.

La Pedonata si svolge ogni anno a Longarone e comprende 3 percorsi dei diversa lunghezza (9, 16 e 25 km) portando i podisti su antichi tracciati cancellati dalla potenza dell'ondata del Vajont la notte del 9 ottobre 1963.
Ha come finalità il sostegno attraverso lo sport di ricordare le 1910 innocenti vittime di quella notte, nonché creare un fondo di solidarietà da devolvere in aiuti umanitari.

Rosa Celotta fu, insieme al fratello Pietro Ettore, animata da spirito patriottico, tanto da diventare cospiratrice contro l'invasore austriaco e dedicarsi alla diffusione degli ideali di libertà facendo proseliti, alcuni dedicati esclusivamente alle donne.
Nacque, visse e morì a Longarone tra il 1825 ed il 1889.

Il Museo Longarone Vajont – Attimi di Storia racconta l’immane tragedia che ha segnato in modo indelebile un intero territorio, strappato alla vita la notte del 9 ottobre 1963. È l’impegno a mantenere viva la memoria di quanto accaduto: nel ricordo delle 1.910 vittime e nella profonda commozione per il coraggio dei superstiti che, in uno stato di totale annientamento, hanno coltivato la speranza nel domani. Il Museo ripercorre cronologicamente la storia di Longarone e del Vajont, attraverso una vasta raccolta di immagini storiche, reperti, testimonianze e filmati.

Frutto dell'ingegno di anonimi artigiani , risultato di calcoli tramandati per tradizione e ripetuti per consuetudine. La loro costruzione aveva lo scopo di contenere il suolo, per sostenere i terrazzamenti e come limite a percorsi che tagliano versanti ripidi ed instabili.
L'elemento caratterizzante è costituito dall'assenza o quasi di legante, quindi la coesione tra le pèarti costituenti dipende unicamente dalla forza di gravità e dal grado di aderenza tra le stesse.
