                <text>Il nostro territorio, in questo momento, è caratterizzato dalla promozione di grandi eventi sportivi internazionali che fungono anche da motore di sviluppo turistico. Non dobbiamo dimenticare, però, che nelle Dolomiti convivono tanti generi sportivi praticati sia dalla popolazione che vi risiede che dai turisti. La politica dei grandi eventi non potrebbe esistere se non ci fosse, alla base, questa larga diffusione dello sport. Lo sci alpino, durante la stagione invernale, non è tutto: non dimentichiamoci dello sci nordico che vede, nelle Dolomiti, la presenza di un comprensorio di piste vastissimo, con oltre 1300 km di tracciati dove poter sciare. Ben 10 sono le aree attrezzate dove si può praticare lo sci di fondo.&#13;
Fino ai primi anni ’80, lo sci nordico veniva praticato unicamente con la tecnica classica. L’introduzione del passo pattinato è relativamernte recente. Nel 1981 il finlandese Pauli Siitonen e lo statunitense Bill Koch sperimentarono una nuova tecnica che consentiva di andare molto più veloci. Nasceva la tecnica di sci pattinato (skating). Le piste per lo sci nordico subivano il necessario adattamento per la coabitazione delle due tecniche, quella classica e lo skating, con fascie di battitura più larghe e con andamenti altrimetrici differenziati.&#13;
Uno sport, lo sci nordico, che vede nelle Dolomiti due grandi appuntamenti sportivi di massa: la Marcialonga che si svolge tutti gli anni, dal 1971, nelle valli di Fiemme e Fassa e la Gran Fondo Dobbiaco Cortina che si svolge dal 1977 (Ulteriore appuntamento è quello della gara invernale in Val Casies).&#13;
Quali sono i benefici dello sci nordico per chi lo pratica ? Ecco cosa ha detto il dott. W. Schobersberger, dell'Istituto di Sport, Turismo, Salute e Medicina di Innsbruck: ' ... Prima di tutto, muoversi nel freddo, nel bel mezzo della natura innevata, fa bene al nostro cervello. Questo fattore viene raramente preso in considerazione, ma è fondamentale. Lo sci di fondo in un prato bianco o nel bosco libera la nostra mente dallo stress quotidiano e ci aiuta a trovare la soluzione ai nostri problemi ...' Poi, naturalmente ci sono i benefici fisici ...</text>

                <text>Le prime gare venivano disputate su strade coperte di neve , e le prime competizioni si svolsero in Svizzera verso la fine dell'800. Il primo club venne fondato nel 1897 e la prima pista costruita specificamente per il bob venne aperta nel 1902. Inizialmente gli equipaggi erano di 5 o 6 persone, vennero poi ridotti a 2 o 4 negli anni '30.&#13;
I bob erano completamente in legno e successivamente vennero introdotti i pattini in acciaio.&#13;
La Federazione Internazionale oggi conosciuta come International Bobsleigh &amp; Skeleton Federation (IBSF), venne fondata nel '23 e lo sport fa parte del programma dei Giochi Olimpici Invernali  dalla prima edizione del '24. Inizialmente si disputava solo la gara di bob a 4. Il bob a 2 venne aggiunto nel '32, mentre le gare femminili hanno fatto il loro debutto olimpico nel 2002.&#13;
In Italia nel'20 fu fondato a Cortina d'Ampezzo il Bob Club Cortina il primo in Italia, e nel '30 sempre a Cortina venne disputata la prima edizione del campionato italiano di bob a due maschile e nel '34 venne introdotto il bob a quattro .&#13;

                <text>Per un lungo tempo la montagna alpina è stata considerata un luogo inospitale distante e misterioso.&#13;
Ma a partire dal XIX secolo le Alpi iniziarono ad attrarre turisti ed escursionisti affascinanti dai paesaggi sublimi e terribili in un misto di sentimento di attrazione e repulsione. Esperti montanari, pastori e cacciatori di camosci, profondi conoscitori delle loro terre, si trasformano in guide per accompagnare sui monti uomini e donne appartenenti, inizialmente e per lungo tempo, quasi esclusivamente a un'élite aristocratica. Solo nel corso del XX secolo, il turismo alpino si estenderà a tutti i ceti sociali diventando così di 'massa'. Gli alpigiani sfruttano la loro conoscenza dei luoghi per trasformare l'attività di accompagnatori un vero e proprio mestiere.&#13;
La prima associazione di guide alpine venne fondata nel 1821 a Chamonix con il nome di Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix.&#13;

                <text>I fiumi e i torrenti sono stati per secoli le principali vie di trasporto di merci e materie prime fino all’avvento della ferrovia nel primo ventennio del XX secolo. In particolare, il fiume Piave era in quei secoli 'l’autostrada' che collegava la montagna alla pianura, il canale primario attraverso cui le risorse naturali del bellunese raggiungevano la città di Venezia. Un paesaggio culturale storico ormai dimenticato, ma che oggi vi faremo riscoprire attraverso i suoi protagonisti.                 <text>Cosa definisce un confine, in montagna? Lo scopriamo attraverso la storia del Giau, uno dei più famosi passi dolomitici, nel cuore delle Dolomiti Bellunesi. Per la presenza di ricchi pascoli e prati, l’area del Giau è stata oggetto di contesa fin dal tredicesimo secolo. Ampezzani e Sanvitesi reclamavano il diritto di possesso e sfruttamento dei pascoli: gli uni sulla base del confine naturale, quello dello spartiacque; gli altri sulla base della loro presenza antecedente e sull'idea che la terra appartiene a chi la utilizza per primo. Neppure l’introduzione del confine di stato tra San Vito e Cortina - che nel 1518 passa sotto l’Impero Asburgico - mette fine alle contese. Nel 1752, con il trattato di Rovedo viene imposto ai sanvitesi la costruzione di un muro per evitare lo sconfinamento del bestiame nel territorio ampezzano. La muraglia, tutt'ora visibile, ci permette di fare un tuffo nel passato, a un tempo in cui l'uomo era strettamente legato alle risorse della montagna e combatteva per difenderne i suoi limiti.&#13;

                <text>I passi dolomitici: una via per andare oltre. Certo, un tempo erano diversi.&#13;
La fruibilità dell’intera area dolomitica è cambiata fortemente con la costruzione della Grande Strada delle Dolomiti. La strada inizia nella piccola località di Cardano, vicino a Bolzano, arriva a Cortina, prosegue poi fino a Dobbiaco. Questa è senza dubbio un opera che ha contribuito in maniera determinante allo sviluppo turistico dell’intera area attraversata.&#13;
Alla fine del XIX secolo, tutta la zona rappresentava il confine meridionale dell’impero austro-ungarico e l’obiettivo principale della strada era di carattere militare. Il Club Alpino austriaco voleva la realizzazione di una carrozzabile fra Bolzano e Cortina. L’idea fu accolta con grande entusiasmo da due pionieri del turismo altoatesino: Albert Wachtler e Theodor Christomannnos. Fu in particolare Christomannos a comprendere l’importanza di questa strada per lo sviluppo turistico dell’intera area. Il suo motto era: 'Senza strade nessun hotel, senza hotel nessuna strada'.&#13;
Nel 1909 si festeggiò l’apertura ufficiale del tronco attraverso il passo Falzarego.&#13;
Nella prima guida illustrata, l’intero percorso da Bolzano a Cortina veniva pubblicizzato in tre tappe di un giorno ciascuna: da Bolzano a Canazei, da Canazei a Cortina e da Cortina a Dobbiaco. Con le prime automobili, l’intero percorso si potè fare in una giornata.&#13;
A distanza di più di un secolo dall’inaugurazione della strada, si deve oggi riflettere sui volumi di traffico, sempre maggiori, che si concentrano in alcuni periodo dell’anno, sul conseguente inquinamento acustico e atmosferico.&#13;
Nel 2018 le Provincie di Trento e Bolzano hanno lanciato il progetto sperimentale dolomitesvives per limitare il traffico veicolare nelle ore di punta sulla strada del passo Sella. Era una misura sperimentale che però nel 2019 non è più andata avanti. Tutto da ridiscutere. Per ora le parole di R. Massner restano un monito inascoltato: '... Solo se andiamo a piedi o in bici, ovvero con un ritmo lento, possiamo veramente apprezzare ciò che ci circonda. Altrimenti è tutta una corsa, al termine della quale non ci rimane niente...' (G.
