Almeno la metà dei maschi in età di lavoro partiva da Costalta all'inizio di primavera e tornava in autunno. Uniti in gruppi si recavano nelle regioni dell'Austria e della Germania ove si sparpagliavano per le città e le campagne. I Costaltesi, come gli emigranti del Comelico superiore, erano specializzati nel riparare le pentole in rame. &#13;
Una lastra di rame, forme di legno e martelline, così il battirame, il clònpar fabbricava ed aggiustava pentole e casseruole. Uniti in gruppi partivano dal paese portando sulle spalle la pesante cassetta degli attrezzi e si recavano nella regione ove di consuetudine esercitavano il lavoro per poi sparpagliarsi per campagne e paesi offrendo la loro opera. &#13;
Un desiderio li accomunava e gli dava la forza per proseguire, la speranza di tornare presto alle rispettive famiglie e al calore del focolare domestico.&#13;

L'Associazione conta oggi oltre 60 soci (Comuni, Istituti Comprensivi, l'UTI delle Valli e delle Dolomiti Friulane, il Bacino Imbrifero Montano del Livenza, Consorzi Pro Loco e Associazioni Culturali) e una trentina di Cellule tematiche inserite nei percorsi ecomuseali acqua, sassi e mestieri. Le cellule ecomuseali sono luoghi in cui ognuno può vivere esperienze ed emozioni, partecipare a laboratori, acquisire conoscenze e saperi... sentirsi protagonista del territorio per conservare e mantenere vivo il patrimonio della Comunità locale.</text>

                  <text>Il Museo Longarone Vajont – Attimi di Storia racconta l’immane tragedia che ha segnato in modo indelebile un intero territorio, strappato alla vita la notte del 9 ottobre 1963. È l’impegno a mantenere viva la memoria di quanto accaduto: nel ricordo delle 1.910 vittime e nella profonda commozione per il coraggio dei superstiti che, in uno stato di totale annientamento, hanno coltivato la speranza nel domani. Il Museo ripercorre cronologicamente la storia di Longarone e del Vajont, attraverso una vasta raccolta di immagini storiche, reperti, testimonianze e filmati.</text>

                <text>La Pedonata si svolge ogni anno a Longarone e comprende 3 percorsi dei diversa lunghezza (9, 16 e 25 km) portando i podisti su antichi tracciati cancellati dalla potenza dell'ondata del Vajont la notte del 9 ottobre 1963.&#13;
Ha come finalità il sostegno attraverso lo sport di ricordare le 1910 innocenti vittime di quella notte, nonché creare un fondo di solidarietà da devolvere in aiuti umanitari.</text>
