Nessuno era esentato dalle fatiche dei lavori in montagna. Fin dalla tenera età i bambini affiancavano i genitori e venivano coinvolti in semplici attività. Alcune famiglie addirittura affidavano i loro piccoli ad altre che in cambio di lavoro offrivano vitto e alloggio, si diceva allora che "li mettevano fuori dalle spese" ossia dal magro bilancio familiare. Questa foto scattata nell'estate del 1946 a Malga Pietena sulle Vette Feltrine, località raggiungibile solo a piedi, con un lungo cammino che supera abbondantemente i 1000 metri di dislivello, testimonia la presenza dei piccoli pastori in quota.

<strong>I PIONIERI DI IERI E DI OGGI</strong><br />Ci sono tante frontiere nella storia dell’Umanità e ognuna ha i suoi pionieri. Sulle Dolomiti le cime rocciose erano il grande ignoto e le guide alpine i suoi esploratori. Generazioni di abitanti le hanno guardate dal fondovalle. Lontane e fredde, le vette erano lo spazio di pochi animali e pochissimi cacciatori. Finché la curiosità dei primissimi, facoltosi turisti non si spinse oltre la fascia dei boschi e dei pascoli fino a raggiungere la sommità delle vette grazie al coraggio e al sapere delle prime guide. Così nacque l’alpinismo sulle nostre montagne: questa galleria lo racconta.<br />
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>PAST AND PRESENT PIONEERS</strong><br /></span><span class="s1"> There have been many frontiers in the course of human history, and each has had its pioneers. In the Dolomites, the rocky peaks were the great unknown region and the alpine guides were the first explorers. Generations of inhabitants gazed up at these peaks from the valley floor. Far away and icy cold, the peaks were a place where few animals lived and very few hunters ventured. This was until curiosity drove the first wealthy tourists to climb above the tree line and the pastures, and to ascend to the top of the peaks assisted by brave, pioneering mountain guides. This is how mountaineering began in our mountains, and this gallery tells the story.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>DIE PIONIERE VON GESTERN UND HEUTE</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">Es gibt viele Grenzen in der Geschichte der Menschheit und jede davon hat ihre Pioniere. In den Dolomiten waren die felsigen Gipfel lange Zeit die großen Unbekannten und die Bergführer ihre Eroberer. Generationen von Einwohnern hatten sie vom Talboden aus betrachtet. Weit entfernt und kalt anmutend, waren die Gipfel der Lebensraum weniger Tiere und noch weniger Jäger. Dann kamen die ersten wohlhabenden Touristen, mit der nötigen Portion Neugier, um über die Wälder und Weiden hinaus nach den Gipfeln zu streben - die sie dank dem Mut und dem Wissen der ersten einheimischen Bergführer eroberten. <strong>AI MIEI TEMPI</strong><br />"Ai miei tempi" è un’espressione che abbiamo sentito pronunciare spesso dai nostri nonni con sguardo assorto. I loro racconti ci fanno fare un balzo in una realtà a noi in parte sconosciuta dove il tempo era scandito dalle stagioni, dal sorgere e tramontare del sole, dal canto degli uccelli. Le giornate trascorrevano lente, tra una fatica e l'altra, con il pensiero di cosa mettere in tavola o di cercare qualche stratagemma per risparmiare, riciclare e non buttare via niente. Erano tempi diversi, si, resi un po' più vicini dalla particolare situazione che stiamo vivendo.<br />
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>BACK IN MY DAY</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">"Back in my day" is an expression often used by our grandparents when they're thinking about the past. Their stories take us back to a reality we hardly recognise, when time was marked out by the passing of the seasons, the rising and setting of the sun, and the singing of the birds. The days passed slowly and with great exertion, worrying about what could be put on the table, or looking for ways to save or recycle things rather than throw them away. Those were certainly different times, but perhaps our current situation has brought them rather closer.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>ZU MEINER ZEIT</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">„Zu meiner Zeit“ ist ein Ausdruck, den wir oft von unseren Großeltern mit träumenden Augen sagen hören. Ihre Geschichten gewähren uns einen Einblick in eine für uns teilweise unbekannte Realität, in der die Zeit von den Jahreszeiten, dem Sonnenauf- und -untergang und dem Gesang der Vögel geprägt war. Die Tage verstrichen langsam, zwischen einer harten Arbeit und der nächsten, mit der Sorge um das tägliche Brot oder auf der Suche nach Strategien, um irgendwie zu sparen, zu recyceln und ja nichts zu verschwenden. Es war eine andere Zeit, die wir vielleicht gerade jetzt etwas leichter nachempfinden können. <br /><br /><a href="http://patrimonio.museodolom.it/exhibits/show/dolomitesmuseum/differentimes/ai-miei-tempi-">INDIETRO - BACK - ZURÜCK</a><br /></span></p>

<strong>IL TEMPO E I MODI PER MISURARLO</strong><br />La fisica ci dice che il tempo, sulla Terra, è uno, ma la nostra esperienza ci dice che sono tanti: cambia a seconda delle persone, degli stati d’animo e dei diversi momenti della nostra vita. In questa galleria abbiamo catturato quattro modi di scandire il tempo nelle Dolomiti: il tempo dettato dal sole, quello ritmato dall’acqua, quello domato dalla meccanica e il tempo contemporaneo che ci spinge ad andare sempre più veloci.<br />
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>TIME AND WAYS TO MEASURE IT</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">Physics tells us that there is one kind of time on Earth, but our experience tells us that there are many. Time varies for different people, and according to your mood and what is happening in your life. This photo gallery shows four ways of marking time in the Dolomites: time as regulated by the sun, time in tune with water, time controlled by mechanisms, and our current time that pushes us faster and faster.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>DIE ZEIT UND DIE ARTEN DER ZEITMESSUNG</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">Die Physik sagt uns, dass die Zeit auf der Erde eine einzige ist, aber unsere Erfahrung zeigt uns, dass es viele davon gibt: Sie ändert sich je nach den Menschen, Stimmungen und verschiedenen Lebensmomenten. In dieser Galerie haben wir vier Arten von Zeitmessungen in den Dolomiten festgehalten: die von der Sonne vorgegebene Zeit, die vom Wasser bestimmte Zeit, die mechanische Zeit und der zeitgenössische Begriff von Zeit, der uns dazu nötigt, immer schneller zu leben.<br /><br /><a href="http://patrimonio.museodolom.it/exhibits/show/dolomitesmuseum/differentimes/tempomodimisurarlo">INDIETRO - BACK - ZURÜCK</a><br /></span></p>

<strong>L’ANTICO RESPIRO DELLA TERRA</strong><br />I tempi della natura sono diversi da quelli dell'uomo. Sono i tempi geologici che racchiudono centinaia di milioni di anni sul nostro pianeta e che ci permettono di ricostruire la storia evolutiva del paesaggio e delle forme di vita grazie allo studio delle stratificazioni rocciose, del loro contenuto di fossili e dei ghiacciai. Ma sono anche i tempi dettati dallo scorrere delle stagioni che danno il giusto ritmo alla vita vegetale e animale. Scoprili in questa galleria!<br />
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>THE ANCIENT BREATH OF THE EARTH</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">Time in nature is very different to human time. Geological eras relate to hundreds of millions of years on our planet, and we can reconstruct the evolving history of our landscape and its life forms by studying layers of rock, fossils and glaciers. But there is also time marked out by the passing of the seasons, determining the rhythms of plant and animal life. Explore these in this photo gallery!</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>DER LANGE ATEM DER ERDE</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">Die Zeiten der Natur unterscheiden sich von denen des Menschen. Wir sprechen von geologischen Zeiten, die Hunderte Millionen Jahre auf unserem Planeten einschließen und es uns ermöglichen, den Werdegang der Landschaft und der Lebensformen dank der Untersuchung der Gesteinsschichten, ihres Fossiliengehalts und der Gletscher zu rekonstruieren. Daneben sind es auch die Zeiten, die durch den Wechsel der Jahreszeiten bestimmt werden, die dem Pflanzen- und Tierleben ihren Rhythmus vorgeben. È quella dell’arte e della musica, che possono immergerci in una dimensione interiore dilatata; lenta e profonda. La dolcezza della melanconia, il respiro di un momento ininterrotto da pensieri e preoccupazioni: questo è in grado di regalarci un coro di montagna o un concerto in vetta al sorgere del sole. <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>IN TIME WITH THE MUSIC</strong><br /></span><span class="s1">There is another experience of time to be found in the mountains. It is that of art and music, which can take us into a slow, deep inner dimension. The sweetness of melancholy, the suspense of a moment uninterrupted by thoughts or concerns: this is what we can get from a mountain choir or a concert on the summit at sunrise. Es ist die Zeit der Kunst und Musik, die uns in eine erweiterte innere Dimension eintauchen lässt, langsam und immer tiefer. Die Süße der Melancholie, das Wohlgefühl eines Augenblicks, der nicht von Gedanken und Sorgen unterbrochen wird: Wir erleben es bei einem Konzert bei Sonnenaufgang auf einem Berggipfel oder beim Gesang eines Bergchors.
