Al Museo Archeologico dell’Alto Adige è possibile ammirare, sui primi tre piani, i ritrovamenti originali dell’Uomo venuto dal ghiaccio – detto anche Ötzi – e la sua storia. Dalle reazioni dei media alla scoperta, alla ricerca scientifica sulla mummia dei ghiacci vecchia di 5.000 anni ma straordinariamente ben conservata e sul suo corredo, fino a curiosità, interviste e postazioni interattive. Pezzo forte è la ricostruzione dell’Uomo venuto dal ghiaccio come doveva essere da vivo. Il Museo della Val Gardena è un percorso nella storia naturale di questa splendida vallata. All’interno delle sale del museo è possibile conoscere da vicino la storia delle Dolomiti e capire come esse si sono formate dal punto di vista geologico. Il Museo custodisce i più antichi reperti di piante e pesci risalenti al Permiano (oltre 251 MA fa) oltre ai resti scheletrici di un grande ittiosauro rinvenuto al Monte Seceda, tra i più antichi esemplari ritrovati al mondo (241 MA fa). Accanto alla storia naturale delle Dolomiti il museo conserva anche testimonianze della cultura della Val Gardena: dagli antichi reperti archeologici, alle pregievoli sculture antiche e di giocattoli che documentano l’arte dell intaglio del legno a partire dal Seicento, fino al racconto della vita e delle opere di Luis Trenker, apprezzato regista di film di montagna. Altre interessanti testimonianze presenti all’interno del museo sono l’antica tela quaresimale raffigurante la Passione e Rissurezione di Cristo, e la camera da letto del maso “Bierjun” con disegni a sanguigna risalenti al tardo Medioevo. <a href="http://www.visitdolomites.com/page2/museum-gherdeina-museo-della-val-gardena/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.visitdolomites.com</a>

La Casa Museo “Angiul Sai” di Costalta, una frazione di San Pietro di Cadore (BL), è un fabbricato ligneo tra i più interessanti del paese, realizzato con l’antica tecnica a Blockbau ovvero “a castello”: in esso sono state recuperate le vecchie stanze adibite ora a museo etnografico e valorizzate come esempio dell’architettura rurale alpina.

Lo spartineve (varsôi) serviva a sgomberare dalla neve le strade del paese. Il varsôi procedeva da Costalta verso il fondovalle, lungo la vecchia strada che conduceva all’abitato di Mare.
La struttura portante del varsôi era una sorta di slitta (lióda) in legno particolarmente robusta, rivestita da elementi in ferro. Nella parte anteriore del veicolo erano disposte le due spònde allargabili, le quali andavano a costituire il cuneo che spartiva la neve in due mucchi ai lati della carreggiata. L’ampiezza del cuneo era definita dalla lunghezza del bastone (miàna) che veniva infilato tra le due spònde, in opposizione ad esse. Il varsôi era trainato da due coppie (cùbie) di cavalli, uniti a due a due tra loro da un giogo (comàt).
L’addetto al varsöi conduceva i cavalli camminando al loro fianco, mentre il balanzìn (sorta di differenziale autobloccato) garantiva agli animali costanza nella trazione del mezzo.
Giunto a Mare, il mezzo veniva ricondotto a Costalta, dopo aver tolto la miàna e riavvicinato tra loro le due spònde.
