<text>I PIONIERI DI IERI E DI OGGI

PAST AND PRESENT PIONEERS
There have been many frontiers in the course of human history, and each has had its pioneers. In the Dolomites, the rocky peaks were the great unknown region and the alpine guides were the first explorers. Generations of inhabitants gazed up at these peaks from the valley floor. Far away and icy cold, the peaks were a place where few animals lived and very few hunters ventured. This was until curiosity drove the first wealthy tourists to climb above the tree line and the pastures, and to ascend to the top of the peaks assisted by brave, pioneering mountain guides. This is how mountaineering began in our mountains, and this gallery tells the story.

INDIETRO - BACK - ZURÜCK

</text>

Their wonderful colours and shades change with the light, delighting their many enthusiasts and leaving a lasting impression on the memory. But rocks are not only like beautiful pictures; they are also like books containing the history of millions of years, recorded in a way that seems unchanging, but in fact continues to evolve over the ages.

INDIETRO - BACK - ZURÜCK

</text>
